Monica Pennetti

Swiss with Italian origin, I have grown up in the contryside of the canton Zurich, Switzerland. Studied in Switzerland and at the London College of Contemporary Art in London, lived in London, Egypt, Barcelona and Amsterdam. I currently live and work in Rüschlikon.

Oil and acrylic on canvas, clay, mosaics, textile design.

Since my earliest childhood I have a passion for drawing and painting as well as for any other form of creativity. Mostly I paint with oil on canvas, usually without having a concrete idea of what I paint. Sometimes there are pictures or photos that really fascinate me and which I try to reinterpret and bring to life in my own way, e.g. on canvas or on textiles. In my opinion, a painting is only then complete when any additional brush stroke simply would be superfluous.
